Armenia, land of churches

An amazing 2 weeks travelling around Armenia. Fascinating history, amazing diaspora and beautiful churches everywhere. My son is half Armenian so took him to see and learn about his heritage.. Wow.. so glad I was there to share in the experience..

  1. Now that is a country I know so little about. Recently read a little about some sad history. The countryside looks majestic and this shots make me want to learn more.

A very sad history through the ages. The genocide museum was soul destroying..

Most tourists in Armenia are Armenian diaspora.. Quite amazing really.. They pay for parks in the town and support what they can.. It’s quite enlightening really..

That sounds wonderful. I had no idea the Armenian economy was struggling.

Thank YOU.. Home to cold wet summer.. πŸ˜‰

  2. What fantastic scenery as Forestwood says it somewhere that tends to be overlooked. But there again maybe in this day and age you’re better off being overlooked πŸ˜‰

Definitely enjoy the less touristy side of travels here and delicious cheap food.. πŸ˜‰

  3. Wow! What a place! (maybe I can see, a little, why you would fight to keep it πŸ™ )

  4. Wow, the vista from that church is certainly breath taking. The churches seemed to dominate an area and seemingly with much sadness than joy in their history no matter what religion it is!
