Artificial light – Brashley Photography

Although I have been doing photography for many years I have only just started learning about more than just auto mode and also photoshop. I am always amazed at how creative photos can actually get. It’s like getting a degree as I have been reading and watching you tube videos none stop since mid January trying to learn and create.. I have to reread and re watch often for it to finally sink in. The other day I asked Bren how she gets such amazing light and she created a lesson for me on Lightroom. I have lightroom but must master photoshop first so tweeked her help to guide me in Photoshop..Β  Go across to her wordpress site.. click here

This is my effort with a before and after shot from a walk in the forest yesterday at lunchtime.. πŸ˜‰ I used aperture mode to focus on the mushroom and have the background slightly blurred πŸ˜‰

It’s interesting to see how much different camera setting affect the pictures. The two pictures have a very different vibe.

Yes, what I can’t get used to is the RAW setting that is so dull and has to be tweeked to normality and more as you can see.. πŸ˜‰

Editing is lots of fun. You gave this an artistic look!! Nice!

  3. I’m impressed that your learning all this. I would love to be a better photographer, but it takes some effort. My pictures always end up with a dog pooping in the background or something.

It is but I am enjoying it.. and with this stupid virus I will probably be laid off work on Monday so will have plenty of time for learning.. πŸ˜‰

      1. Maybe you can become a professional photographer. My library is closed to the public, but we – the library ladies – are still going in to do busy work and clean stuff. Don’t know how long that will last though as there’s only so much to do.

You sometimes have to turn left or right off the path.. πŸ˜‰

  4. You might want to stick with Lightroom, its much easier to use and does almost everything Photoshop does in a simpler way. I use both but its not really necessary and I took several courses at a local college then spent many years learning it on my own.
