I’ve never used photoshop before and usually use minimal effects on 1 layer in GIMP.. My kind of photography is keeping things as natural as possible. I did decide however to give up my netflix subscription and take out a monthly subscription on photoshop for a year. I got a really great black friday deal. I watched youtube how to videos till I could watch no more and had a little fun.Β Β

I watched photoshop youtubes as well as just some basics on photography and storytelling and keeping things simple. I knew that this little boy came from a poorer area in the Kyrchin village in Kyrgyzstan and that he was looking at all that food inside. But you could not tell that from the photograph.. I decided to merge the 2 shots.. I did like the result.. π

20 Dec 2019The merged result tells a very different story, doesn’t it! Good luck with Photoshop, it’s a behemoth. I used it to get that soft, dark look on my tulip photo.

20 Dec 2019A different story but still a true story. so interesting.. ;-).. It’s fun for contrast and saturation.. not too difficult..

29 Dec 2019You don’t have to learn to use every feature, practice the basics like levels and curves first. The filters can be fun too.

4 Jan 2020Yes that’s what I’ve been doing.. levels and curves with some contrast and saturation.. π

5 Jan 2020Beautiful, I too have the subscription to Photoshop, I primarily use Lightroom as that is also a cataloguing feature of images as well as doing basics to an image. I know the feeling about watching all the videos… sometimes I get brain overload and then it sinks in.
